Word on the Street
This month we asked people "What are your fandom plans for 2008?"
Anna, aka The Grey Ladies
My wizard rock plans for 2008 are steadily growing at this point. I want to write more music, and not just a cappella stuff, which I'm actually starting on with my friend Dylan. I'm learning how to play my bass, Rowena, and hopefully I'll be good enough to play her at my first show of the year in February. I'm planning and organizing Magus 2008 with Grace the Snidget, which will be awesome and a pair of socks. And right around the time Magus will be held (June 20th-22nd), I'm putting out my first CD, Shades of Grey! I also want to go on at least a mini-tour in the summer with some other wrock bands, and go to Terminus, but that all depends on when I leave for Rotary Exchange, which I just got accepted to go on a few days ago!! I can't WAIT!
Jess, aka Miss Metamorphmagus
Fandom this year is simply going to be amazing, I can already tell. What I'm looking to forward most is going to Wrockstock, because it will be my first ever American Wrock experience, and, also, my first ever trip to America! But fandom in the UK is going to be great this year too, I'll make sure of that! We're planning gigs and meet-ups and all sorts at the moment, and I can't wait!

The great thing about my fandom plans for 2008 is whatever I do, it will be the first time ever. I wasn't a part of the wrock fandom until August of this year, so I'm really entering into brand new territory here. Even though most of what happens will be a complete surprise, here are some things I know for sure.
In Feb. my friends Steph and Allie from Tonks and the Aurors and The Chinese Chomping Cabbages respectively are coming to do a show in Richmond (which I am booking) and possibly spending the night. I've never met them in real life before and I can't wait, its going to be so much fun! Also theres a tentative Catchlove/Whomping Willows concert earlier that month in Williamsburg, and if that happens LIFE WILL BE AWESOME! I've never been to a wrock concert and I would love for them to be my first.
Besides concerts, there are also conventions. I'm planning on going to Magus with my friends (more about them later) seeing as its only one state away. I've never been to an event either, so I'm excited! But even better than that, I'm going to Terminus if I can get the money. The whole thought of Wrock Chicago just blows my mind. I need to go!
I'm going to be helping out with PotterNoyz's podcast, helping pick the songs and such, which is pure Grade A awesome. Lastly, (and this goes back to my friends) I pray that my band can get its act together and record some songs and possibly perform. *crosses fingers*
Here's hoping 2008 will double 2007's awesomeness! Wrock on!

2008 is going to be a busy year. I'm kicking it off with two shows in January, one in Pittsburgh, PA and one in Columbus, OH. My first CD, "In Greenhouse Three" comes out in January too. Then, Steph from Tonks and the Aurors and I are going on a week and half long tour at the end of Febuary along the east coast- and I'm so looking forward to that! There's also going to a be a huge Wizard Rock Pajama Party sometime in March, we're organizing the the HUGEST wizard rock pillow fight. I'm not doing much after that until June, when I'm playing the huge wrock gathering Magus in West Virginia. I've been asked to play the One Magic Night convention in Sacremento, that would be my first show on the west coast. I'm also planning on attending both Wrockstock and Terminus, and at Terminus I'm going to be serving on a panel with several other wrockers to discuss the different aspects of wizard rock. I"m also playing on the Reading Is The Weapon We Have tour with several other awesome bands.
I'm also planning another EP release for sometime late 2008. I've got this small song writing problem- I write when I ever I feel like it. I've already got songs for the EP written...and I'm not done recording my first CD yet. =]
